It has been ages since I made flourless cookies. Maybe I will return to them someday.
However, there will be the kinds I plan to pass on due to my own experiences as well as the ingredients. But there will also be the types in which I may consider baking again.
First, I will start off with the best flourless cookie I have made:
Double Chocolate
While this cookie tasted okay, I will admit that it was very sticky. I forget what the recipe called for. But whatever caused the stickiness was used in other recipes of the same cookie.
Actually, now I remember: it was the egg whites that caused the stickiness.
Peanut Butter
The first time I had this, it tasted all right. Sadly, after that, it did not taste like a cookie. The texture was also more like a thick fat. I don’t think I will make these again.
Chocolate Chip
I don’t recall if I ever made these without flour. But the recipes called for almond butter. Not that I have anything wrong with almond butter, but the images the recipes provided didn’t appeal to me. Nor did the ingredients.
The Internet has lots of flourless cookie and other recipes free of flour (such as flourless chocolate cake–yum!). Would you ever try a flourless sweet treat, excluding candy?
